I love October. I love that I don't have to utter the preposterous term 'Rocktober'. I love the weather, the fact that Halloween is coming and I love horror culture.... books, movies, TV shows and comics. I'm gonna do 31 days of suggestions. Feel free to add your own ideas in the comment box. Should be fun!

Day #1...  Wolf Creek.

They had the balls to release this on Christmas Day, 2005. This ain't no holiday feel good movie. Some may classify it as 'torture porn' but I think it's a step above (I'm fully aware that the last statement is somewhat nerd/creepy and I'm ok with that). Great acting and a genuine feeling of dread permeate this flick. It actually starts very slow. You learn the characters the locations are beautiful... so just hang in there. It comes down to stranded motorists/vacationers in Australia's Outback region who meet a dude named Mick Taylor (not thee Mick Taylor of Rolling Stones fame). Things don't go well. Of course it claims to be based on true events. You can research that on the innerwebs if you like. This is available on dvd thru Netflix. Also... next time you're in an Outback restaurant order 'head on a stick' and see what they say. Sweet dreams!
