This little gem goes all the way back to 1971... just 2 or 3 years after the original Night of the Living Dead and it has that same independent charm. Technically it's a vampire film and it F'd me up BAD! Very few movies have ever really rattled me the way this did. I believe it was the ABC Friday Night Movie. I was feverish and sick and needless to say I didn't sleep well that night... if at all. About a year later they showed it again... and I watched it again... thinking it wouldn't bother me the way it did the first time. Wrong. Another night spent praying for daylight.
I'm guessing it was 1974 or so by the time it made its way to TV the first time. I was probably 10. By today's standards this movie is very tame but I still think it's an all time great for mood and atmosphere. Watch the trailer below... it has to be a record for trailer length... then if you dig it watch the whole damn movie at the link right below the player. I have seen it in Blockbuster before too. Sure it's dated and old school but I know if they remake it it's gonna suck bad.
