In the late 70's and early 80's John Carpenter was on fire. In 1978 he pretty much invented the slasher genre with 'Halloween.' By 1981 he cranked out 'Escape From New York'. In 1982 he had his remake of 'The Thing.' But the movie that he chose to do in 1980 was the vengeful spirit story called 'The Fog'.

It's a bit cheesy by today's standards but he got Adrienne Barbeau (who he would marry in real life) to play a totally unrealistic radio dj who never wore headphones and broadcasted from an old lighthouse. Jamie Lee Curtis came back from Halloween and all hell breaks loose in Antonio Bay on their 100th anniversay as a town... which just so happened to be built on a leper colony. AWESOME! Which reminds me... why do lepers love hockey? Because there's a face-off in the corner, get it? Next time the weatherman calls for dense fog dust this baby off and enjoy!
