Great flick about a group of female cave explorers who encounter just a few obstacles on a reunion weekend. The film starts with a nasty set of circumstances unrelated to the overall story but it lays the groundwork for distrust and revenge.

What I love about this movie is that the director builds a sense of foreboding before the 'horror' element even gets introduced. The feeling of claustrophobia and hopelessness is in full effect before things get really, really bad for this group. They're not damsels in distress. These chicks are tough and ain't waiting around for some dude to bail them out. Does the title 'The Descent' refer to lowering themselves into the ground... or the trip into madness? If you don't know the answer now you'll figure it out after you watch...
