A new study suggests some of the stereotypes associated with porno actress might not necessarily be true.
The study published this month in the Journal of Sex Research found that the so called “damaged goods” hypothesis of porno actresses does not necessarily hold water.
“In terms of psychological characteristics, porn actresses had higher levels of self-esteem, positive feelings, social support, sexual satisfaction, and spirituality compared to the matched group,” the abstract of the study, “Pornography Actresses: An Assessment of the Damaged Goods Hypothesis,” reads.
The study compared 177 porn actresses to a sample of women matched based on age, ethnicity and marital status.
