I couldn't really put this in the title because it wouldn't fit. What it should have said is... Bob Costas, have a hot steaming cup of shut the _____ up.
Bob is offended on behalf of Native Americans over the name 'Redskins'. At about 23 seconds into this video Costas says this.... "...in fact, as best can be determined, even a majority of native americans say they are not offended."
As his propaganda winds down Bob says... "It's fair to say that for a long time now, and certainly in 2013, no offense has been intended."
So Bob? What's the problem? Why does NBC insist on giving you a platform to piss and moan about the preceived racism with which nobody (native americans especially) seems to have a problem? Is your calm yet condescending delivery meant to persuade the rest of us that we really have got it all wrong? I respect your insight into baseball and think you're a damn fine sports announcer. Do us all a favor and leave it there. Being offended for a group of people whose majority is not offended does nothing to enhance the NBC Sports experience. File it away with your stance on gun control.
If you can stomach it... here's Bob's full commentary.
