It's just a terrible tragedy that happened in Connecticut today. I have to wonder what kind of animal would do something like that, what makes a person pull out guns and open fire on children? How can someone be that sick and twisted?

I hope the families who lost people today can get through this, and I wish those who saw it happen can someday return to a normal life. Words cannot describe how awful I felt seeing the first reports of it today and how terrible I feel about it now.

One last point: to those who are getting on television and preaching gun control or saying this happened because God isn't in the schools or because policies are too liberal, please stop. Nobody wants to hear your politics today. This isn't about you, this is about people moving forward and making some sense of all of a horrific event.
