Columbus By The Slice (from left): Nathan, Vince, Paul, Jeff, Kyle, and James. Posting after the Mega Meat Challenge at Joseppi's (4764 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43228).
Back on July 20th, the guys and I went to a place that we kinda stumbled upon: Joseppi's. Chuck (who we realized later is the owner) repeatedly invited us and we finally made it on that summer day. Well, we did our review and enjoyed the West Broad Street location. However, while we were there, Jeff was interested in the "Mega Meat Challenge" that Joseppi's hosts.
This is a pizza that's 28-inches big. That equals to about two larges per guy. It has six pounds of meat. If you're doing the math, that's three pounds of meat per dude. Dang! They had an hour to finish it. And, much do Jeff's initial delight, there were lots of dead animals on this pizza: pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, and ground beef. But, by the end of it - they didn't want any more meat.
Unfortunately, with about 12-minutes left in their hour long challenge, the guys couldn't take it anymore. I attempted to revive them in their dietary feat, but it was to no avail. I would estimate they took down a little over half the pizza. Maybe more.
All in all, a good time with the crowd that gathered to watch it go down (thankfully, none of it ever came back up). If you were thinking about taking on this massive pizza - maybe consider making up a last will, too. Kyle and Jeff did their best, but the "Mega Meat Challenge" at Joseppi's proved to be the winner.
